British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on December 29th, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his team members.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, representatives had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital follows the sports world shared sympathy for the champion in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
