The One-Punch Man Series Season 3 Is Set to Continue (By 2027)

Truly the most surprising piece of news, the notorious controversial season that was season 3 of One-Punch Man wasn't enough to deter the series' continuation. The show will be back with a second cour in 2027—such a distant date they easily could have dubbed it season 4. Even more shocking, the studio J.C. Staff will continue to be leading the project. At least this time, helmer Shinpei Nagai is set to direct from the start, which is seen as a good sign. However, the promotional image for the continuation is a mirror of the one used for season 3, just with characters Saitama and Garou oriented differently. This leads one to believe that, nowadays, they are probably teasing the fans.

The Ruri Dragon Series Will Be the First Shonen Jump Anime Produced By Kyoto Animation

Kyoto Animation has built a name for being an prestigious animation studio, setting itself apart not just for the high caliber of its output but for the fair treatment of its employees—a uncommon practice in the industry. Unexpectedly, until now, it had not produced an anime stemming from a manga from Shonen Jump, possibly the most famous magazine in the business. Ruri Dragon will end that streak, and what a superb choice it is. The manga by Masaoki Shindo gained widespread acclaim when it launched in 2022 after just a small number of issues, but then went into a lengthy break due to the mangaka's health issues. When it returned with a lighter schedule, the series proved it maintained the fans' appreciation and positive sentiment, and now fans are thrilled about the upcoming KyoAni adaptation.

Kingdom is the top-selling, epic Shueisha manga that is not One Piece. If you've never heard of it before, it's because it only just received an English release, but the anime has been airing for years, and season 6 was a further excellent entry. As it happens that was just the first cour, because a "sequel" has been announced as in production, and it will very likely air in 2026.

Another studio known for the artistic merit of its productions, Science Saru has brought us hit shows of the ilk of Space Dandy, Devilman Crybaby, and, more recently, Dandadan. This time, the studio will be taking on the adaptation of Tomato Soup's manga A Witch's Life in Mongol, inspired by the real historical figure of Fatima, an powerful woman and scholar in the Mongol Empire in the 13th century. Judging from the trailer, the anime named Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia will have a truly original and fascinating visual style, which evokes Ranking of Kings. Debuting in July 2026, this one will without a doubt be on my must-watch list.
